My world

This is one of my favourite places on earth: Hvalstrand beach in Asker. A few years ago it was electet as the best beach in Norway - and it really is. Wanna come for a swim?

Heeeeei Lene.

Duverden for noen flotte vinterbilder derfra - ble helt melankolsk her!

Herlig.

Ha en fin uke videre.

lovely pics - a dinky bit chilly for a swim

Wow! No wondering why it's your favorite place... even in the dead of winter it's fabulous. Maybe even more so without all the people to be had in the summer.

That tree is so beautiful! I wonder who walked out to the diving platform. Did someone dive in for a swim? :)

Lene: It does look like a great place but way to cold for a swim. Is the big triple platform for diving?

Now they are some great photos, talk about a winter wonderland. And the photo of the high dive is a study in contrasts.

I bet it looks greatly different in the warmer weather. Though I must say these are just stunning. Smiles B

Really beautiful. But in Norway, is it warm enough even in the summer to swim on this beautiful beach?

Between you site and your husbands you've made me want to visit Norway and I usually don't like the cold. Fantastic pictures. Who knew how beautiful and colorful ice and snow could really be.

Your winterscapes are just mindblowing! I love them all.
Adore the delicate snow trimmed birch.
Sure I'd come swimming, I've swum in the Baltic when it was snowing.

What a great serie! The second shot is my favourite. I wouldn't fancy a swim though.

Beautiful shots, I like the "almost but not quite" monochrome tones.

I have so many good memories from Hvalstrand beach - I recognised it as soon as I saw the 'jumping platform' in the first picture.

I lived in Drammen for about 13-14 years before moving up to Øvre Eiker. Now I'm back in England... sadly. I shall be following your blog though - I never tire of looking at photos from Norway, especially around the Buskerud area. No matter how long I'm away, it'll always be 'home' to me.
